Heather Sinclair, of Lynette’s Law and the Lynette’s Law website, has posted a video on warning signs of bad therapy called The Real Crisis in Healthcare. The video includes some great advice on what to do if you see any of these warning signs in your own therapy.
You can visit Heather’s website at www.LynettesLaw4Maryland.com for other videos and a wealth of information.
Thank you for such an informative video. I hope this can help others avoid potential negative therapy. Seeing this would have helped me before things spun out of control in my bad therapy. Please continue to speak out Heather!
Thank you very much for being the voice for those who have been abused.
One thing I want to point out if you have not already noticed. More & more are being told by there Therapist to estrange there parents & siblings. Estrangement today is an epidemic. The only one who benifets is the Therapist. The gravy bowl is for ever filled and secure. And the happy pill becomes addictive. Estrangement causes more heartaches. The person who was suffering from mental illness often loses there parents trust & love. They feel isolated & alone. This causes so many backlashes & the hole gets darker & deeper to crawl out from.
Re Heather Sinclair
Im sorry but I dont support this lady she is pursuing a vendetta against the therapist and (from personal experience with her) I feel she is a narcissist.
Fiona,
Have you been through therapy Abuse?
Hi All!
It’s been a long time! I was just now reading through the comments about Lynetteslaw and the two people were indeed trolls.
Anyhow, I’m not sure I ever updated you all that Lynetteslaw did pass in WV in 2016 along with criminal background checks for everyone in healthcare. A lesser form of Lynetteslaw passed in Md in 2017.
Regarding the trolls- Some people hate it when survivors stand up to make a difference. One made a comment about personal vendetta I had against my therapist. Sexual assault survivors are entitled to a personal vendetta against their abusers. My issue, though was more with the system that gave him a license to begin with since he is a violent convicted felon who almost killed a child and got a mere four years in prison for it. He never should have had a license to begin with.
The other comment about agency is inappropriate in a discussion about sexual assault. The man is 6’2, 280lbs, Marine and he grabbed me and sexually assaulted me. Rape and sexual assault is about power and taking agency from the victim. The person who commented that she had the agency to get up and walk away is not a survivor of sexual assault. She had an inappropriate therapist. Those things aren’t the same. Hopefully, that person learned over the years that victim blaming will no longer be tolerated in a just society.
I hope everyone is well!
Hi Heather,
Thanks so much for the update!
Hope you are well and thriving!
